The team are pleased to welcome recent University of Southampton graduates Lewis Johnston and Charles Scott, who join us as Graduate Naval Architects.

Lewis Johnston

Lewis joins us as a Junior Naval Architect and will be reinforcing Tadek’s naval architecture capability.

Lewis has just finished his final year of an integrated master’s degree in Ship Science and Naval Architecture (MEng) at the University of Southampton, specialising in renewable energy and offshore hydrogen generation. Lewis gained hands-on experience through his fourth-year project, designing an offshore green hydrogen generation platform in addition to parametric computational hull design. Lewis has a special passion for renewable innovation through engineering and representing a part of the race to net zero. You can read Lewis Johnston’s profile here.

Charles Scott

Charles joins us as a Graduate Naval Architect and will be both adding to Tadek’s Naval Architecture capability, while also supporting Tadek’s Marine Analysis capabilities.

Charles recently acquired his Master’s in Ship Science (MEng) from the University of Southampton, specialising in offshore renewables. Charles gained significant experience during his final year Group Design Project, where he designed and performed mooring analyses of a large semi-submersible floating structure for green hydrogen production in addition to developing a comprehensive model of the design from the ground up within SolidWorks.

Charles’ passion for renewables and the race to net zero carbon emissions paid off when he attended the Offshore Storage & Energy Symposium (OSES) conference held in Malta in 2023, where he presented the project to numerous renewable energy companies.
