George Woodall
Graduate Naval Architect
MEng (Hons)
Education and professional background
George completed his MEng (Hons) in Marine Technology at the University of Plymouth, gaining a strong academic foundation in naval architecture and marine engineering. During his studies, he engaged in a range of group-based design projects and validation exercises, strengthening both his technical skills and team-based problem solving.
His practical mindset and collaborative approach make him a valuable contributor to delivering innovative, real-world outcomes on Tadek’s projects.
George’s expertise
George is a skilled individual with a sharp attention to detail and extensive knowledge of 3D design and modelling software, allowing him to quickly develop and refine solutions. He applies engineering principles effectively to assess the feasibility of designs and identify what will perform optimally in real-world conditions.
He has significant experience in seakeeping analysis for vessels and marine structures, providing valuable insights and recommendations to improve stability and seaworthiness.
His dissertation on hydrodynamics, which was published and awarded best engineering project, involved retrofitting an air lubrication system on a 2.5m model bulker tested in a towing tank. This work examined the reduction of viscous drag and its influence on vessel stability, demonstrating his ability to combine innovative research with strong project management to overcome technical challenges.
