Established in 2010, Tadek is an independent consultancy with a reputation as a dynamic consultancy resource for Marine, Offshore & Subsea projects. We offer services in mooring and umbilical design, naval architecture, and installation analysis to the oil and gas, marine renewables and offshore wind industries.

Tadek’s particular strength is to work closely with customers to ensure assets are safely installed offshore and interfaced to existing or new infrastructure in the most cost-efficient way.

About the Role

How does the role contribute to the overall company mission?

You will be part of the naval analysis team. As well as supporting the naval architects within various consultancy projects within the growing FOW market you will support some of our core business work, delivering installation analysis for complex offshore energy systems (i.e. heavy lift, SURF, floatover, mooring, cable and pipelay installation). You will also interface with clients, suppliers, our team and other stakeholders.

Responsibilities
  • Complete installation analyses and feasibility studies using Orcaflex software to simulate complex offshore operations, including lifting, installation, and transportation of marine, offshore, and subsea structures
  • Generate static and dynamic models of offshore operations in Orcaflex
  • Determine the key installation stages and optimise for the design criteria specified by the client
  • Conduct structural integrity assessments, dynamic response analyses, and operational risk evaluations
  • Develop Python scripts to automate the generation of models and post-processing of large datasets, enhancing analysis efficiency and accuracy, develop tools/software that can be used across projects and sold as a standalone service
  • Prioritise tasks in order to deliver key recommendations ahead of the planned deliverable date
  • Prepare clear and concise technical reports summarizing the analysis methodology, results, and operational recommendations for internal and external stakeholders
  • Collaborate with the project engineering team prior to and during operations, with occasional periods on-site
  • Develop inventive solutions which reduce the risks and cost for complex operations
  • Keep up with industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance and continuous improvement in analysis techniques

Qualifications

Required:

  • Master’s or Bachelor of Engineering in Naval Architecture, Offshore Engineering
  • Graduate: 0+ years of professional experience
  • Junior: 1-5 years of professional experience
  • Intermediate: 5-8 years of professional experience
  • Senior: 8+ years of professional experience
  • Offshore projects transportation and installation experience
  • Professional experience in offshore installation analysis, utilizing Orcaflex software
  • Strong proficiency in Python programming, with experience in developing scripts for model generation and data processing
  • Sound understanding of offshore engineering principles, installation methodologies, and structural analysis techniques
  • Familiar with offshore code and standards
  • Experienced user of engineering tools; Orcaflex, Mathcad, AutoCAD, Maxsurf and Rhino
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data sets, identify trends, and draw meaningful conclusions
  • Detail-oriented approach with a focus on delivering accurate and high-quality results within given timelines
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Familiarity with project management principles and the ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Fluent English (spoken and written)

Desirable:

  • Understanding of Metocean conditions and process data

Essential Information

Hours and working pattern

40 hours per week, Monday – Friday. Additional hours may be required during project execution phases.

Location

The role is based at Tadek’s office in Woking, Surrey (and/or hybrid/remote as applicable). International travel including offshore/off-site location may be required during project execution phases.
